On Exhibition!
FOR MUSEUMS, SOCIETIES, LIBRARIES & ARCHIVES. May 23, 2018 • Museum of the White Mountains, 34 Highland Street, Plymouth, NH Spring '18 workshop and annual meeting. An engaging exhibition of archival materials or museum artifacts requires a clear organizing theme, thoughtful item selection, historical research and interpretation, and a secure display area. It does not require a big budget. This workshop offers creative ideas and practical advice on all aspects of successful exhibitions, particularly those produced on a limited budget. The speakers include Jim Perkins (labels and small exhibitions), Cynthia Robinson (interpretation and creation of "The People's Forest" exhibition, opening May 16), Marylou Lazos (display and installation), and Carolyn Soucy (large-format printing). A brief annual meeting of the NH Archives Group will precede the workshop; tours of the Museum of the White Mountains will be offered at the end of the day. Join us in Plymouth on May 23. Meanwhile, please email us an exhibit photo to be shown at our informal lunchtime discussion session — and bring your own exhibit stories and questions. Registration details: April 23 through noon on May 22, 2018. NHAG members are $20; non-members are $30; combined workshop/membership (new or renewed through May 2019) is $35. |
