BOOK CREATION AND CONSERVATION IN NEW-ENGLAND May 10, 2016 • Howe Library, 13 South Street, Hanover, NH The New Hampshire Archives Group is pleased to announce its spring workshop and annual meeting, to be held on May 10, 2016 in Hanover. Coffee and registration: 9–9:30 am. Speakers from Dartmouth College’s library and archives will focus on the printed book—its history in New England, book arts education, and conservation practice. Whether you care for a large book collection or simply enjoy books and their history, you will find the workshop entertaining and tours instructive. |
The morning plenary, lunch, and annual meeting will be held in the Mayer Room at Hanover’s Howe Library. Optional afternoon tours will be conducted at Rauner Library (rare books and archives) and Baker Library (conservation lab and book arts) on the Dartmouth campus. These libraries are a one-third mile walk from the Howe.
Parking at the Howe will be reserved for those with mobility concerns. Hanover’s municipal garage is conveniently located one block away (6-hours @ $9.25; 4-hours @ 4.25), and the Howe can validate your garage ticket for a 1-hour credit. Metered street and parking lot spaces are also available, generally subject to 2- and 3-hour time limits. Attendance at the Howe workshop is limited to 70. The optional afternoon tours of the Dartmouth archives, conservation lab, and book arts studio are limited to 30 total (three groups of 10).
