Basic training and practical advice for archives volunteers.

Join the New Hampshire Archives Group (NHAG) on October 3 at the Nashua Historical Society for the Fall 2019 workshop. Registration and coffee will be available at 9:00 AM.

This workshop will provide basic training and practical advice for volunteers working with archival collections in libraries, archives, and historical societies. The program will include:

• Introduction to the Archives
• Donation Handling & Condition Assessment
• Donor and Patron Interaction
• Recording, Describing, and Processing
• Tours of Nashua's Speare Memorial Museum

Instructors are Brian Burford (NH State Archivist), Barbara Rimkunas (Exeter Historical Society), Betsy Holmes (NH Institute of Art), and Jeffrey Barraclough (Manchester Historic Association), along with NHAG board members representing historical societies, educational institutions, and municipal archives. Bring your questions and quandaries!

Registration details: September 6 through noon on October 2, 2019. NHAG members are $10; non-members are $10; combined workshop/membership (new or renewed through May 2020) is $25.
